What is the purpose of a website?
That’s an easy one.
A good website converts visitors into buyers.
We can’t expect every online visior to turn into a life-time paying customer, but continually striving to increase the percentage of people who engage with your website should be a your goal.
What is website engagement?
Website engagement is when someone spends their valuable time on your website.
It is when you provide questions to their answers. It is when you help them solve a problem. It is when they perform an action.
Good Website Engagement Actions:
- getting driving directions.
- reading a full article or post.
- sharing an article or post on social media.
- filling out a form.
- liking you on Facebook.
- picking up the phone and calling your business.
- sending an email inquiry.
- placing an online order.
The Element of an Unexpected Call to Action Surprise
We have all experienced unexpected surprises when browsing the web. Some good. Some not so good.
I cringe when I see cat pictures on a website unrelated to animals. Or when I am trying to purchase something from my large screen mobile IPhone 6 Plus and still have to zoom to read the text. These are not so good unexpected surprises.
What if You Made Someone Smile Unexpectedly?
I could spend hours (and I do!) viewing and reading about web design for inspiration. And today I stumbled upon a web design element that I think could make a website visitor smile.
Why? Website call-to-actions can help entice someone to engage with us.
Go ahead click on a tile below (the unexpected surprise will be revealed on the developers page!)
I love the usage of colors, the clean interface and unexpected surprise I got when I clicked on a tile. Simple yet unexpected.
Great big shout out to…
kushagra gour; @chinchang457 for the inspiration.
